Company History

jeffs_headBefore I tell you a bit about us, I want to thank you for visiting our site. In Appleton, Neenah and the rest of the Fox Valley you have a lot of choices when it comes to landscaping services, so I appreciate your taking the time to consider us. I hope you’ll take that next step to contact us and set up an appointment to discuss your project with us.

I’ll be right up front: We’re a small company, there’s no doubt about it. Since we began in 1997, now and in the future, we’ll never get larger than 10 people on staff, and that’s just the way we like it. With our small size we can be hands-on through every step of your project. And whether it’s our first handshake, your review of our design, the installation of quality materials or our final walk-through, you’ll see the same friendly, knowledgeable faces. We tried growing quickly once, but found that by staying smaller we could stay in contact with all of the important details of a project. By staying small, we had happier customers and happier staff throughout the entire process. Let’s face it, we live in a small community. You’ll probably see me at the grocery store or your kids’ soccer games. I want those chance meetings to be reminders of the satisfaction you had in working with us.

And though you may not have heard our name before, we’ve been around for awhile. For my part, I started in the industry in 1985, riding my bicycle to work each morning through my high school summers. As time went on I learned more about the industry and took on more responsibility. Throughout college I continued to learn and grow, running a landscape crew for my employer. After graduation I did a short stint in Corporate America but missed having tangible results for my work and a job where my artistic talents could be put to use, I left the white-collar world to stick my hands firmly into the earth again. Since then I’ve never looked back.

We’ve been contributors to the Post-Crescent’s weekly Home section, providing expert advice for the do-it-yourselfer. We’ve also held numerous seminars, and authored articles for several national trade magazines, sharing our knowledge with others in the industry. I’m the founding member of the Ground Trades Xchange, a landscape industry website that for ten years has elevated the standards and practices of our profession nationwide.

We also give back when we can, having been involved in two Make-A-Wish projects for area children.

And we love what we do! Meeting new people and talking with them about their ideas for their landscape, then distilling those thoughts into a creative, functional use of their space is an exciting challenge. Bringing that space to life can be extremely rewarding. Our goal is always to make your outdoors a place you’ll love spending time in.

Thanks again for considering us. I look forward to speaking with you personally.
